Vacancy: Experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter
We have a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter. The candidate must have a broad experience in new machinery build. Knowledge of working with close tolerance components is essential, electrical/ software experience will be useful but not essential. Key factors are self-motivation and the competence to work unsupervised.

Assembly of twin-screw extruders, cooling conveyors and drum coolers- plus some ancillary equipment
Refurbishment of twin-screw extruders
Refurbishment of gearboxes, extruder barrels and screw shafts
Some pre-delivery testing / commissioning of machinery will be required
Some site work / on-site commissioning or resolving service issues on extruders may be required
Must be prepared to stay overnight as required to ensure sufficient rest and compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company driving policy
Understanding of 5S principles an advantage but not essential
Hours 7:30am – 15:30pm Mon-Fri (plus overtime)

Time served experienced Assembly Fitter / Engineer
A broad experience in new machinery build
Working with close tolerance components is essential
Installation of bearings and seals
Fitting of gears and bearing / refurbishing of gearboxes
Hydraulic pipework, water hoses and some pipefitting plus some pneumatic pipework
Fitting of guards, brackets etc. often in stainless steel
Highly organised and conscientious with a keen eye for detail.
Self-motivation and the competence to work unsupervised
Capable of working independently or in a team and able to coordinate with others to meet delivery targets and deadlines.
Willingness to travel to global destinations if required for machine commissioning and start-ups
