Senior Maintenance Engineer
Overview: Retained by our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer of automotive components we are recruiting for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Remit:
- As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will lead the maintenance team towards full TPM, ensuring continuous and safe running to reduce incidents and breakdowns.
- The successful Senior Maintenance Engineer will have experience working in a similar role, with working knowledge of injection moulding machines & automation.
Role:
- Supervise a team of three Maintenance Engineers
- Ensure maintenance operations are safely conducted
- Develop safety measures to guarantee full safety during maintenance operations
- Lead the maintenance team towards a full TPM, with a proactive, preventative mind-set rather than corrective
- Communicate with production planning to ensure equipment PM is achieved on time
- Plan and follow corrective actions
- Ensure repairs are performed in a “right first time” mind-set and followed until full completion and validation
- Lead major technical maintenance operations such as toggle replacements, pump repairs, hydraulic seals replacements.
- Communicate directly with equipment suppliers to ensure fast response to breakdowns
- Manage outsourced contractors to ensure equipment and machinery are compliant with legal requirements (LOLER, PUWER, PAT Testing, FGAS)
- Lead in-house electrical installation, including testing and certification
- Cover Site Electrical Duty Holder responsibilities (relevant training can be provided)
- Lead all 5S aspects around maintenance
- Lead the technical sides of in-house continuous improvement projects
Experience & Requirements:
- Experience at a similar level in an injection moulding environment is essential
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines
- Qualified with BS7671 17th or 18th Edition
- Qualified with City and Guild 2391, 2395 or equivalent in electrical inspection and testing
- Fully comfortable with legal standards such as BS7671, EAWR89, HASAWA1974
- Multiskilled with strong troubleshooting in Electrics, Hydraulics and Mechanics
- Experience working with a CMMS system
- Fully confident with reading and interpreting technical drawings (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical)
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Time management and organization skills
- Strong team working, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
