Toolmaker

Job Overview:  On behalf of our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Toolmaker to join their team.

 

Remit:  

• As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of injection mould tools on site
• The successful candidate will be required to have previous injection mould tooling experience, competent with using manual and CNC machines the ability to work on their own initiative within a small tooling team
• This is an exciting position for a Toolmaker working a days role who is keen to join a company going through an expansion period where they can learn and develop their skills further

 

Role:

• As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of injection mould tools on site
• Build, repair and maintain tooling
• Proactively deal with mould breakdowns
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks
• Test mould functionality after repairs – water pressure / leak testing and electrical
• Record works done in the daily logs and maintenance schedule
• Report any spare parts needed to supervision
• Keep the work area clean and tidy
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Mindful of personal H+S whilst carrying out all tasks

 

Experience:

• Previous mould tool maintenance / tool making experience
• Engineering Qualifications / Time Served Apprenticeship
• Good knowledge of CNC, milling, lathes and grinding
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, work on own initiative or within a small tooling team
• Good understanding of hot runners systems
• Understanding of electrical systems
• Ability to read and understand 2D drawings
• Computer literate with experience of using MS Excel, MS Word & Power Point
