Service Engineer

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team to support continued business growth.

Remit:

  • As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for maximizing machinery output and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response whilst maintaining a safe and healthy environment and promoting good engineering practice
  • Successful candidates will have a technical understating of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting, within a manufacturing environment

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
  • Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve with minimum downtime to production
  • Installing new production equipment
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment
  • Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines
  • Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
  • Maintaining statistical records
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports
  • Managing stocks of supplies and equipment
  • Ensure that the business always maintains occupational health and safety standards along with ISO14001 Environmental requirements

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Technical understating of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
  • A background in injection moulding manufacturing or the plastics industry would be desirable but not essential
  • Proficiency operating modern maintenance technology
  • Good verbal communication skills for scheduling maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion, even during emergencies
  • Strong organisational skills for scheduling maintenance tasks as per maintenance schedule ensuring tasks are not overlooked and that minor site issues do not become major site issues
