Engineering Manager

Job Overview:  Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their established team.

 

Role:

  • As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading the engineering team to ensure the optimal condition and performance of all site infrastructure and production equipment
  • Utilizing the latest agile maintenance techniques, including predictive and preventative methods, and leveraging data-driven strategies, the Engineering Manager will drive continuous improvement in machine uptime, process efficiency, and overall production effectiveness
  • Implementation of capital, change & improvement projects into the factory, including the integration of Smart Factory technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and develop a safe, ethical, and legally compliant work culture within the engineering team with a “zero accident” philosophy by ensuring all machinery and equipment installations meet Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) and comply with safety standards
  • Lead the engineering team in contributing to the site’s PUWER compliance, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and corrective actions are implemented promptly
  • Support accident and quality investigations through root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions (CAP)
  • Continuously monitor and improve the efficiency of machinery and processes, utilizing data-driven approaches and predictive maintenance techniques to minimize downtime and enhance productivity
  • Lead the integration of IIOT, Smart Factory technologies, and other innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and predictive maintenance capabilities
  • Seamlessly and safely manage the introduction of new machines, equipment, and processes into the production facility
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by managing and developing the engineering team, ensuring that all members are trained in key areas, motivated, and capable of supporting the business’s objectives
  • Coordinate departmental resources effectively to maintain all site infrastructure and equipment while minimizing production downtime
  • Responsibility for managing and reporting the engineering expense budget and capital expenditure on new equipment and processes

 

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in engineering management within a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience in implementing predictive maintenance strategies and leveraging smart technologies
  • Experience managing teams and leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Budget management experience, with a focus on maximizing return on investment
  • Proficient in the use of data analysis tools, IioT technologies and software for monitoring and improving engineering performance
  • Advanced knowledge of agile, predictive and preventative maintenance techniques
  • Expertise in industry best practices, safety regulations, and compliance (including PUWER)
