Injection Moulding Setter

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Injection Moulding Setter join their team to support continued business growth.

 

Remit:

  • This position will suit a skilled Injection Moulding Setter with experience within setting, conditioning and process optimisation of injection moulding machines
  • Candidates MUST HAVE demonstrable experience within injection moulding manufacturing

Role:

  • As a Mould Setter you will work closely with the Line Manager / Supervisor to perform the technical requirements of the shift to support manufacturing operations
  • In the role of Mould Setter, you will perform mould set ups and changes in an efficient manner according to the production schedule, utilising all available resources
  • Support and complete NPI tool trials/ protocols along with development functions to the Technical department
  • Perform preventative and real time maintenance on all primary Tooling, machinery and auxiliary equipment as required and assists Maintenance department within this process on Technical issues as they arise
  • Take a proactive approach to planning the workload of the shift to minimise downtime
  • Trouble-shoot and repair both mechanical and electrical problems on equipment and provide timely short-term and long-term solutions
  • Develop, implement and maintain a proactive technical presence on the shop floor & to the team to ensure optimum machine process and mould utilization, using ‘Best Practices’ & GMP tools
  • Suggesting new technology where applicable to enhance manufacturing processes
  • Support the company with quality Objectives related to its requirements within; ISO 9001:2008 & AS9100 Rev D. working closely on common goals & initiatives by adhering to the quality system
  • To support a quality first approach to daily tasks when meeting & exceeding ‘The Customer’s’ expectations
  • Perform duties in a safe, non-hazardous manner in compliance with safety standards

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Technical moulding knowledge – solid processing, mould setting and machine maintenance background required
  • Industry recognised injection moulding qualifications
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate efforts with the overall shift goals as established by the Shift Supervisor
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude is essential
  • Must have the physical skills to kneel, sit and bend to perform the necessary maintenance of the equipment
