Quality Manager

Job Overview:  Working alongside our client, an established technical injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join their team.

 

Role:

  • As a Quality Manager you will play a key role in ensuring quality is upheld throughout the production facility, responsible for overseeing and implementing quality control measures, conducting audits, managing documentation and ensuring continuous improvement
  • This role requires a strong understanding of quality management systems and a passion for ensuring products meet the highest standards

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits (ISO 9001 & IATF16949)
  • Host and participate in 3rd party & customer audits (ISO 9001, IATF, VDA, Customer Specific)
  • Develop Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents
  • Create FMEA, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for variables & attributes
  • Create process flowcharts
  • Manage and respond to customer complaints (root cause analysis, 8D problem-solving)
  • Manage supplier quality
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Inspect parts, identify faults, and make decisions on disposition
  • Use various measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer gauge, Faro arm, laser & probe)
  • Oversee calibration procedures
  • Attend Gauge R&R (GR&R) reviews
  • Maintain accurate records and manage document control, use MS  Office Suite (particularly Excel) for data analysis
  • Participate in Management Review meetings
  • Prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist others
  • Manage and develop a Quality Engineer and QC Inspector as part of the Quality team

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of quality engineering / management within manufacturing
  • A recognised technical qualification, Degree, HND or similar
  • Knowledge of injection moulding processes would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of working with quality management systems and processes (ISO9001 & IATF16949)
  • Experience in the operation of technical measuring equipment
  • Experienced in the use of quality tools – FMEA, PPA, MSA, Control plans
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage own workload
  • Flexible and able to react to changing customer requirements
