Job Overview: Our client, an established plastic packaging manufacturer, has retained our services to search for a Toolmaker to join their team.


  • To repair and service the moulding machine tools, and related equipment, in a timely and efficient manner


  • As a Toolmaker, you will comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures at all times and promote good working practices throughout the workforce
  • You will ensure regular mould maintenance is carried out to the highest standard
  • The successful Toolmaker will diagnose mould problems/issues, investigating the possible causes and putting the necessary solutions in place to fix them – target to enable the tools to run “right first-time” in a production environment
  • You will complete general tool making tasks and be flexible in a “breakdown” scenario
  • Toolmakers liaise with operational staff to understand tooling related issues

Skills & Experience:

  • Time served Toolmaking apprenticeship
  • Electrical experience would be an advantage, but not a necessity
  • Injection moulding experience would be an advantage
  • CNC Machining centre experience an advantage
  • A base understanding on pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Ability to understand technical drawings
  • Self-driven, with a positive attitude and a proactive outlook
  • Able to work efficiently independently and under own supervision as well as part of a Team
