SK Functional Polymer is a newly established company headquartered in Paris, France, following the acquisition of Arkema’s Functional Polyolefins business by SK Geo Centric in June 2020. SK Functional Polymer has more than 50 years of experience in the development and supply of specialty polyolefins products from manufacturing facilities in Europe (Balan, Carling and Mont) and in the USA.
SK Functional Polymer markets an extensive range of specialty polyolefins that are suited to a large number of applications. Their main applications are: tie resins, impact modifiers, recycling agents, coupling agents, seal-peel resins,. These thermoplastic materials enhanced with a range of functionalities (acrylics, epoxy, maleic anhydride) are supplied under various brand names:
Purpose of Job:
The TS&D Engineer reports to the Market Development director and is a member of a team located in Spain and France.
You will be in charge of giving technical support to SKFP existing customers and promoting SKFP solutions to these customers and new prospects.
The Technical Service and Development engineer provides solutions to the business while collaborating closely with functional partners (Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Supply Chain, etc.) to meet company objectives and improve the profitability of SKFP.
The main SKFP products covered by the TS&D engineer are specialty polyolefins used in packaging, construction and automotive industries with a focus to sustainable applications
Core Responsibilities:
· Support technically existing customers, including the resolution of their challenges when using SKFP products. Contributes in root cause investigation to mitigate existing or future customers’ challenges.
· Promote new SKFP solutions and products to customers and new prospects.
· Understand customer requirements to choose the best solutions using SKFP products.
· Increase quality of SKFP corrective actions on management process through active participation in problem solving
· Maintain a thorough knowledge of the products, applications and participate in the creation of product information packages
· Work independently in a highly integrated team and communicate well with diverse groups of people across all levels, functions and cultures.
· Participate in the SKGC global technical community to share his/her knowledge on products/technology/markets
· Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to the business goals.
· Effective communication with others regarding customer issues and problem resolution.
· Consistent positive aptitude that adds to group effectiveness and positive culture.
· Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications:
· Chemist/Chemical Engineer educational background with material/polymer science analysis and/or extrusion experience (Education: Master’s Degree, PhD).
· Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English (any other European language will be valuable).
· Likes to contact external parties (customers, regulators,), to travel regularly in EMEA region, and to find solutions.
