Hybrid – Based in Milano

Salary: Circa 50,000 to 70,000 Euros (depending on proven track record)
Includes a variable bonus scheme and company car or allowance
Reporting into: CEO
Language skills required: English, (Italian and additional languages would be of advantage)

A specialized manufacturing company, with a long history since 1962, they’re producing a wide range of PTFE tapes, films and filaments. Which are 100% made in Italia!
Markets they cover vary from Medical to construction and industrial applications
Role Overview:
Working independently and autonomously with regular communication with the CEO you will be tasked to increase company turnover, focusing on the specialty side of the business. The role would best suit an ambitious and driven individual who is a business developer, passionate about sales and likes to be challenged by targets. You will be a solution seller covering the European market, but you could work outside of this geography.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the CEO to implement commercial policies, defining and implementing commercial action plans, ensuring effectiveness is maintained – carrying out price margin analysis.
- Being proactive and hands-on, liaising with customers and attending customer visits as and when appropriate.
- Responsible for negotiations, defining sales prices and customer price lists, evaluating product price margins leading to profitability.
- Supporting a Junior Sales colleague, you will be their direct report
- Managing and coordinating replies to customers queries and working in collaboration with other departments.
- Account management, maintaining and developing customers portfolios
- Conducting sales analysis, preparing periodic sales reports
- Business development, identification of new opportunities (working with direct customers and identifying new agents and distributors (vendor management)
- Development of commercial activities and marketing initiatives whilst monitoring SOPs to ensure continuous improvement in line with being proactive.
- Producing quotations (price and volume) for new customers, prospecting new customers and developing new business (general)
· Project leader for special strategic projects concerning existing or potential customers and assigned to the Sales Manager by the CEO. This task will include the co-ordination of the departments needed to properly implement the project, the preparation of relevant support materials and commercial analysis.
· Defining and sharing the Revenue Budget in due time
· Defining the Revenue Business Plan
· Supervising the activities of the Junior Sales Employee promoting the best quality of service and performance
· Supervising customers focused activities of the Social Media Specialist promoting the best quality of service and performance
Candidate Profile:
- The selected candidate will speak fluent English and have a real desire and passion for sales and business development, ideally having experience with wire and cable manufacturing, however this will be reviewed with an open mind
- Suitable candidates will have a proven track record in business development, possess leadership skills and be driven and ambitious
- Able to conduct themselves with flexibility and adaptability, this role is located close to Milano, and you will work both onsite and from your home office
- Willing and able to travel within Italy and throughout Europe
- Have experience with Microsoft Excel in a sales environment
- Additional languages (Italian, German and French) would be advantageous but not necessary
