The Client:

A plastic recycling solutions business, who are striving towards a world without waste. The business has 20 years in house experience, as well as partners in the UK and abroad, providing plastic scrap and regrind to their customers.

The Role:

Due to substantial growth, an exciting new vacancy has risen for a Business Development Manager to join the team. This role requires the incumbent to have an ambitious and tenacious nature with a strong commercial mind set and the ability to build relationships.
· Generate sales and develop a diverse customer base for a range of recycled plastic.
· Implementing strategic sales plan, in line with company objectives.
· Develop new customers and increase overall volumes and margin.
· Identify all prospective customers within the market segment allocated.
· Actively seek out new sales opportunities and conduct market research through research, cold calling, networking, social media, attending conferences and trade fairs
· Perform customer site visits to build relationships and discover market information.
· Develop and enhance relationships by being creative, innovative and offering excellent customer service that is responsive and tailored to customer needs.
· Engage in constant and active risk management, to ensure the product being supplied is per the company quality requirements.
· Negotiation and sales of plastic raw materials (price, payment terms, logistics, suppliers)
· Nurture relationships with customers, as well as with other key stakeholders, such as warehousing, logistics and suppliers.
· Good understanding of the financial impacts of pricing decisions to a commercially driven organisation.

Candidate Profile:

· Proven track record in a sales or business development role.
· Strong knowledge of Plastics market.
· Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
· An entrepreneurial individual who is self-motivated and results focused.
· Strong at developing new business accounts.
