Listgrove is recruiting for a Business Development Engineer or Manager, ideally located in Germany, Poland, Czechia or elsewhere in Central Europe.

Our client is an engineering-based company, specializing in injection moulding and contract manufacturing services for medical, optics, electronics, and technical precision applications.

Employed within a Sales Group consisting of 12 others and supported by strong technical resources, you will be responsible for identifying and driving new business into any of the Group’s multiple, global facilities.

Person Specification:

⦁ The individual must be able to communicate effectively throughout the Group and also at all levels of prospective clients including design, sourcing, quality, technical personnel and C-Suite executives.
⦁ Fluency in English essential with good ability in spoken/written German.
⦁ Degree level essential; Engineering background with plastics/injection moulding highly desirable.
⦁ Material process understanding beneficial.
⦁ Experience selling into a contract manufacturing, B2B environment.
⦁ Willing/able to travel within Europe >50% of the time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

⦁ Marketing and selling the Group’s contract manufacturing offering, based on injection moulding, assembly, and related services within the global salesforce.
⦁ Prospecting for new business growth with medical, optical and industrial customers primarily in Continental Europe. (The successful applicant will be provided with an existing list of customers and prospects).
⦁ Identification of suitable market fit between product/customer and the Group’s capabilities.
I. Conduct detailed market research.
II. Generate leads.
III. Receive RFQ and submit proposals.
IV. Close opportunities.
⦁ Identification of a sales agency to assist the above, if relevant.
⦁ Develop new customers in line with customer criteria and meeting strategic initiatives.
⦁ Promotion to, gaining enquiries from and winning new business with appropriate customers by submission of professional tenders, proposals and quotations and offering technical solutions.
⦁ Generation of quotations using an appropriate computer-based costing system based on the most appropriate Group manufacturing site.
⦁ Provide input to regular business development reviews.
⦁ Work closely with other group personnel and all group sales agents.
⦁ Identify improvements to company’s service, presentation, etc.
⦁ Report project status regularly to line manager.
I. Complete monthly sales funnel and business update
II. Provided quarterly account action plan summary
⦁ Assist with exhibitions, training/mentoring, presentations at seminars as required.

Working relationships

The position requires the building and maintenance of close co-operation with colleagues at all levels of the business. The position will also require contact with colleagues in other group companies, as appropriate.

Training and development

Significant training provided over initial 6 months of employment and then highlighted on an ongoing basis between you and the line manager, on an annual basis.
