The client:

A global producer of release agents for a wide range of moulding applications and a recognised industry leader within the field. Their expertise goes beyond the products that they develop and manufacture and reaches the production processes of the industries that they serve

The role:

⦁ In consultation with the UK Country Manager, implement the operating plan to achieve the financial objectives agreed for the UK territory.
⦁ The job holder determines which existing and potential customers will be targeted and where trials will be undertaken in consultation with the UK Country Manager and the Composite European Business Director (CO EBD). This should be in line with the agreed target account action plan.
⦁ The job holder is responsible for directly managing and servicing direct customers & distributors / agents within the UK CO sales territory. To provide challenge and motivation to the UK & Ireland composites distributors.
⦁ The job holder will act as technical support to the UK CO distribution network, including training and mentoring, thus enabling the distributors to act independently in terms of sales and technical support to the end customers.
⦁ This is a field sales position with 80% of the time to be spent in the field, visiting customers, running trials etc.

Key Results Area:

⦁ Maximize the sales generated in the UK CO sales territory in both the short and long term, through meeting or exceeding the budget objectives.
⦁ In consultation with UK Country Manager & CO EBD, set pricing to the customer base at a level that maximizes the profitability to The Client, whilst offering sustainable value to the customer.
⦁ Actively manage the gross margin level to meet the targets set for the territory in both the short and long term. Achieved by implement regular price increases through negotiation and / or product substitution in conjunction with the UK Country Manager & CO EBD.
⦁ Directly manage the customer base to ensure that the service level provided meets or exceeds their expectations and needs.
⦁ Implement commercial and technical training as required for distributors so that they can make an effective sales approach & product selection, and offer application and troubleshooting consultation to end customers, independently. The training will include offering on-going practical product selection and evaluation support at end customer premises as necessary.
⦁ Provide clear and regular documented feedback to sales management and relevant regional / global team members on activities, opportunities and threats at key, cross regional and global accounts.
⦁ Complete regular reviews of territory to identify new business opportunities to ensure the long term sustainable revenue and margin growth within the territory.
⦁ Complete product trials and evaluations with the customer base and in support of distribution channels in order to secure existing and new business. The Client’s business model is most effective when the sales force personally manage customer trials.
⦁ Implement technical consulting and troubleshooting as required with customers in order to build credibility with the customer base.
⦁ Provide clear and regular feedback of new business opportunities, prospects, contacts, customer trial results and ongoing product performance and challenges to the Client technical team through the relevant databases and CRM system (C4C).
⦁ In consultation with the relevant sales manager, raise technical assistance and product development requests when necessary in order to meet ongoing customer needs and / or competitive product introductions through the relevant databases.
⦁ Build strong relationships with the co-suppliers and industry institutions. From these relationships, glean intelligence about existing or competitively held accounts, new technologies and growth opportunities. In addition the job holder must promote The Client’s position as market leader with these co-suppliers and industry institutions.
⦁ Implement marketing communications programs for the sales territory in line with European marketing communications strategy.
⦁ Provide regular and timely reporting of performance, current and planned activities and key market conditions.
⦁ Provide timely and regular updates to the customer service and operations groups of significant changes for both new and existing customers.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills:

⦁ Proven experience of selling into the UK composites aerospace market
⦁ Commercial background gained selling items used in the production of aerospace components.
⦁ Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
⦁ Experience of the relevant markets and its customers ideally with a practical hands on knowledge of the industry processes.
⦁ Technical degree or equivalent preferred.
⦁ Assertive, articulate; goal-oriented with strong business acumen and judgment. Action-oriented with well-honed organization and planning abilities.
⦁ Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing effectively with senior management and high-level customer contacts.
⦁ Ability to work in a multicultural and multi-lingual environment.
⦁ Ability to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
⦁ Ability to work with all levels and all functional groups within the company
