Our Client is an International group who provide the most innovative sustainable packaging solutions for the food, food service, ice cream and beverage markets.
⦁ Responsible for the sales leadership, management and growth of the UK sales
⦁ Development of strategy for the product category in line with the corporate business plan and growth objectives
⦁ The role has responsibility for managing the external regional sales team and internal sales (Customer service)
⦁ Have a full awareness of the market needs of the market categories served and ensure that you are predicting any trend changes that will impact on sales as well as capturing competitor activity
⦁ Provide timely and accurate forecast data and delivery of budgeted volume, and maintain a strong New Business Pipeline across the team
⦁ Work closely with Company HQ in Italy
⦁ Establish a detailed understanding of the customer and market needs to set the sales strategy
⦁ Retain and grow existing customers within your team’s customer base through identification of volume and margin growth opportunities
⦁ Evaluate new business opportunities and agree prospective targets with your team and deliver profitable new business within your product categories
⦁ Maintain a regularly updated and dynamic pipeline detailing all growth activity
⦁ Work with the NPI Team to review and update product requirements
⦁ Ensure preparation of Customer Account Plans as required, and that plans are fully communicated, activated and all actions are carried out according to the plan
⦁ Provide monthly sales reports, forecasts and periodic status reports as required
⦁ Assist with strategic planning and market development exercises by providing market intelligence including information on market dynamics and competitor activity
⦁ Motivate and drive your sales team and assist them in achieving / exceeding targets
⦁ Provide coaching and performance management for team members, and develop talent for future roles
Budget and Forecasting-
⦁ Delivery of the relevant Budget to retain existing sales volume and deliver new sales growth in line with the strategic business plan
⦁ To deliver and regularly review the agreed sales targets as set in the current budget and align with any business reviews carried out
⦁ To have the ability to re-forecast your team target monthly to ensure that the forecasted budget is achieved
People and Resource-
⦁ To develop a structure that ensures all accounts served within your category receive world class service
⦁ Motivate your sales personnel to promote and sell the Film products within existing and prospective customer base
⦁ Ensure there are sufficient resources and skills to deliver on the key strategic and budgeted objectives for your categories
⦁ Establish clear reporting disciplines from all sales personnel within your team to allow for accurate forecasting and the development of an on-going sales forecast. Ensure that all reporting is done in time and with the accuracy to meet Group reporting requirements.
⦁ Submit a monthly report to your line manager to the agreed deadlines.
⦁ Ensure that a positive relationship is maintained with accounts under your own management and that robust sales strategies are in place to ensure continued growth for the products, including opportunities for other group sites
⦁ Ensure ‘best in class’ level of client service to optimise sales revenue and service opportunities.
Required Experience Traits:
⦁ Proven record of business management and sales growth within packaging/food service
⦁ Strong people management skills ensuring sales performance reaches expectations through team leadership, clear communication of KPIs, mentoring, training and support
⦁ Good level of negotiation skills to ensure margin levels are achieved in line with business requirements
⦁ Experience of working within a dynamic, highly responsive, entrepreneurial oriented and service driven sales environment where price is also a key driver
⦁ Driven and energetic with high levels of self-motivation
⦁ Able to inspire the team and build confidence with customers
⦁ Excellent communication skills both internally and externally
⦁ Used to work at fast pace and multi-tasking
⦁ Good networker looking for cross-selling and customer opportunities
⦁ High level of integrity
⦁ Home based but flexible to regular travel to site and customers as required
