Job Description:

The Business Development Manager, is responsible for managing the company’s strategic growth initiative portfolio, as well as directing all relevant daily sales activities within the scope of the agreed area of focus.

Business Development Manager for Consumer Durable Goods is responsible for market penetration and business development within the following sub- segments: Consumer Electronics, Electrical and Electronics, Sports and Leisure, Building Products, Large and Small Appliances, Home and Office Goods, Hygiene and Baby Products, Toys, and Major Resin Producer.

Customer base would include Brand Owners as well as convertors that focus on these specific markets. The candidate should Research the local market and setting and implementing the Consumer Goods and related segment strategies in regionally and globally when necessary.

The candidate will work closely with regional and local management to set market expectations when it comes to pricing, margin, quality, service, and technical requirements.

The role:

· Plan, develop and implement market penetration based on the definition outlined by Regional/Global Strategies
· Actively maintaining customers in Europe and Globally and surrounding areas through regular customer visits
· Focus on generating project pipeline in cooperation with regional team and technical resources
· Responsible for market related key/focus account coordination within the region
· Identifying new business opportunities with the help of constant market observation
· Research consumer needs and identify how our solutions meet them
· Perform Market and Competitive analysis that identifies size and share of wallet
· Churn management new business improvement while protecting the core
· Managing customers’ technical and commercial needs while ensuring highest levels of service are maintained
· Quick and efficient submission and tracking of offers
· Developing accounts to their optimum revenue potential
· New business form project closes & cash flow generation
· Activities are reported into Customer Management System – Salesforce
· Sales growth in region for Product line/Segments
· Management of documentation; up to date and within required timeframes
· Implements internal training sessions in conjunction with global teams
· Execution of strategic sales plan which expands customer base
· Identify gaps to deliver solutions which penetrate new or enhance existing markets

The ideal candidate:

· ideally 10 years of experience in the plastics industry, experience in Sales is essential
· University degree in Chemistry or Material Science or Business Administration is a plus
· Fluent in German and English. Other languages are a strong advantage
· Ability to deliver high quality accurate work under pressure
· Proven track record of success within sales and have a clear understanding of the sales cycle from scouting to cash
· Team player, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
· Willingness to extensively travel in Regionally in Europe and surrounding areas, open to occasional business trips abroad
