Procurement & Supply Chain Director

Location: Remote – Preferably France, Netherlands or Belgium
Office Location: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southern France
Accountable to: Chief Operating Officer
Compensation: Base salary, performance bonus and usual executive benefits.

The company provides sustainable alternatives to traditional petrochemical-based chemistry in the form of bio-based compounds and derivatives to be used in a variety of applications for different industries including industrial or consumer care, agrochemicals, personal and home care, paint & coating, and cosmetics, among others.
Overview:
Develop, implement and maintain procurement and supply chain strategies
Plans and coordinates purchasing of raw materials, products, services and investments to secure and optimize the CAPEX, the operating expenses and the COGS (Cost Of Goods Sold) of the Company in line with the budget and standards defined,
Develops and runs necessary business infrastructures to make sure to achieve a smooth and efficient supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management:
· Design, implement and/or optimize supply chain strategies that are aligned with organization´s goals.
· Oversee the logistics and transportation of goods from suppliers to customers ensuring efficiency and timely delivery.
· Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to guarantee smooth operations.
· Monitor supply chain performance and report to key stakeholders all relevant performance indicators.
· Closely monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts and production schedules to maintain optimal inventory levels, to minimizing OWC.
· Develop and maintain master production plans/schedule in line with forecasts and planning.
· Train and guide supply chain team, ensuring effective execution of defined processes and roles.
· Continuously seek cost effective solutions for supply chain processes, including data analysis and technology integration into the supply chain.
· Establish and maintain successful relationships with supply chain vendors, customers, and business partners.
· Ensure compliance with supply chain regulations and procedures.
Procurement Management:
· Design, implement and/or optimize procurement strategies that are aligned with organization´s goals.
· Identify, source, and acquire goods and services to secure the best deals.
· Oversee the negotiation of supplier contracts, RFQ and bid processes.
· Manage supplier relationships and ensure supplier performance is monitored and a part of the procurement process.
· Act as a business partner for all the procurement and purchasing tasks in the organization.
· Continuously search for new alternative suppliers to maximize value during sourcing.
· Oversee and train procurement and purchasing staff.
· Safeguard records are maintained and accurate.
· Continuously capture market information to outline and share market trends and their impact to daily business.
· Plan policies and procedures for efficient, ethical, economical and productive purchasing of goods and services.
· Establish essential guidelines for approving purchase orders, set purchasing policies, manage inventory, budget for materials and continuously consider stock requirements, skills and account balances.
· Support in maintaining company budget and the streamlining of costs.
· Monitor procurement team performance and report to key stakeholders all relevant performance indicators.
Fulfill all deputizing duties requested by management.
At all times, ensure that the Company’s image is one of professionalism and reliability.

Competences:
Knowledge – Practical Knowledge:
· Master’s degree in Business Management or similar.
· Demonstrable management experience in Supply chain and procurement.
· Assertive with strong negotiation skills.
· Extensive field knowledge in an industrial context.
· Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct others according to company standards.
· Exemplary multitasking and organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills.
· Proficient in sourcing and supply chain tools.
