The client:

Part of an ambitious and progressive international group, the company is a well-established manufacturer of polypropylene used in wide variety of applications including BCF yarn, fiber, stretched tape, carpet backing and adhesive tapes to a European customer base. This is a new role that has been created to lead the site through it next stage of growth and development.

The Role:

⦁ Lead the European Polymers (Polypropylene) business.
⦁ Develop and execute a strategic vision.
⦁ Build and execute targeted commercial strategy.
⦁ Drive manufacturing efficiency and take general management lead of the plant.
⦁ Leverage synergies between the US and European operating companies.
⦁ Ensure close cooperation between division and group activities.
⦁ Prepare the budgets for approval, ensure financial activities and plan the necessary investments, increase operational performance and realize maximum growth.
⦁ Drive the green “recycling” agenda and explore options for reducing the carbon footprint.
⦁ Enforce and instil the Group Culture with a strong ‘can do’ mentality, a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
⦁ Is an active member of the BU Polymers & Engineered Solutions management team, reporting directly to the BU Vice-President.

Person Profile:

⦁ University degree or equivalent.
⦁ A further business-related qualification such as an MBA is an advantage.
⦁ Technical / commercial experience in polyolefin (polypropylene/polyethylene) or other chemical industries. Candidates with relevant polyolefins experience from the packaging, textiles or consumer goods sector may also be of interest.
⦁ Experience with multiple sales channels such as direct B2B and distribution/reselling.
⦁ Experience of managing a company in France.
⦁ Demonstrable strategic business planning skills.
⦁ Strong product management skills, commercial acumen, manufacturing agile and financial savvy.
⦁ Strong leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate.
⦁ Occasional travel requirement, mainly within Europe.
⦁ Fluency in English and French.
