Business Development Manager Rigid Packaging

This position can be based either onsite in Luxembourg or remotely in the European Union.

 

The Role:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth within the PET bottle market by identifying, qualifying, and converting sales leads. This role focuses exclusively on new client acquisition through the proactive use of market intelligence, competitor analysis, and trend monitoring. Measured on converting leads to RFQ’s you will provide a solution-based sales approach to provide the customer with the best outcome for their needs.

 

Responsibilities:

· Identify new business opportunities through data-driven research, industry reports, and competitor tracking.
· Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads across target markets and sectors.
· Use CRM systems to manage, track, and report on lead generation activities.
· Conduct regular market and sector analyses to uncover trends, gaps, and emerging opportunities in the PET bottle market.
· Monitor competitor activities and assess implications for new business development.
· Quickly engage and build relationships with key decision-makers to understand their needs and align solutions accordingly.
· Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build presence and attract new leads.
· Closely work with cross functional teams to gain valuable insights into what is happening in the industry.
· Provide regular reporting.
· Contribute to strategic planning by presenting data-backed recommendations for business development initiatives.

 

Success Metrics:

· Conversion rate from lead to opportunity
· ROI from campaigns and prospecting efforts

 

Candidate Skills and Attributes:

· Degree educated.
· Proven experience driving new business in an associated environment, with-in the PET industry, (bottle manufacturing, PET molding machinery).
· Proven track record of strong customer relationships.
· Ability to quickly validate sales opportunities early in the process.
· Have an understanding of the injection moulded food packaging market is an asset.
· Understanding of the plastics process involved for manufacturing PET bottles.
· Strong negotiation focused in solution selling.
· Confident in producing and presenting, presentations to customers.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong leadership and project management skills.
· Confident in public speaking, presentations at trade shows will be required.
· Fluent in English with additional languages of great advantage.
