The Company:

Part of a multi-national group, our client is a leading manufacturer with a strong reputation for providing innovative solutions to a fast paced and demanding customer base. The primary purpose of this role is to develop and successfully implement a robust strategic and operational IT performance plan that is aligned to the needs of a fast growth 24/7 manufacturing business.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead and develop the IT service offering provided to internal customers. In conjunction with this, the Group on a business ‘process re-engineering’ programme aimed at delivering ‘best in class’ processes and systems to meet ongoing growth demands. The candidate will work cross functionally with senior managers, peers and subordinates to support the successful delivery of this programme.

Key Responsibilities:

⦁ Assess current IT strategy and operational performance against future needs developing 1/3/5 year business plan.
⦁ Responsible for the IT infrastructure across two UK manufacturing sites, in addition to Group IT responsibility for a number of other international Business Units.
⦁ Role includes ensuring robustness and security of IT services across those sites.
⦁ Set out the ‘IT Business Vision’ taking account of internal customer needs, future business growth, investment and resource constraints.
⦁ Kept abreast of new and emerging technologies.; Next evolution – i.e., work with the team to understand how IT can add value and competitive advantage
⦁ Communicate the ‘lT Business Vision’ to the executive board, senior management and team members ensuring expectations are fully understood and commitment is gained.
⦁ Leadership of IT budgetary performance.
⦁ Set and ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators; develop and implement corrective action plans to tackle any remedial action that is required.
⦁ Review the current ERP system in terms of ‘fit for purpose’ to meet ongoing business needs and ensuring that the ERP system is fully utilised to its potential.
⦁ Develop IT education process and implement a training plan for users where required.
⦁ Develop, lead and optimise the company’s Continuous Improvement programme in relation to IT services ensuring appropriate tools / infrastructure are in place to maintain a ‘best in class’ user support service.
⦁ Take on a visible leadership role in people management, setting clear and stretching objectives for the direct reports; providing mentoring support, set performance management objectives, agree training where necessary and ensure that the high expectations are understood.
⦁ Manage external IT subcontractor partner in a cost effective and efficient manner.

The Profile:

⦁ Minimum of 5 years senior IT management experience within a manufacturing environment; including experience of managing change.
⦁ Acted as a Head of IT or CIO in a similar scale fast-growth business.
⦁ IT experience to include ERP system knowledge and other IT infrastructure associated with a manufacturing company operating across multiple sites.
⦁ Strategic IT experience and capability of operating at ‘Group’ level. Demonstrable experience building out innovative IT & systems strategies and their links to business strategies.
⦁ People management experience; extensive and good track record of managing technical teams including local and 3rd party supplier management.
⦁ Great interpersonal and people skills with the ability to deal with internal/external customers and IT suppliers/partners at all levels.
⦁ Pro-active and dynamic mindset.
⦁ Understands the challenges of an internal customer support model ensuring that realistic expectations are understood and achieved.
⦁ Ambitious, persistent, resolute with gravitas, good communicator and a demonstrable ‘can do’ attitude that both colleagues buy into
