Based Cheshire (the ideal candidate will already live within 1 hour drive of their head office in Nantwich and is likely to be in the office two days per week)

As part of their continued progression and succession planning, the company is looking for a Key Account Manager to lead the sales activity and drive revenue opportunities.

Primary purpose:

A key aspect of this role is managing a select number of key accounts, ensuring their needs are fully satisfied. This involves a consultative and collaborative style of selling, working closely with the customer to design their product requirements and then project managing the solution to launch. The position is also responsible for a small internal sales team who look after the requirements of the smaller customers.

The Role:

· Develop strong relationships as the primary contact with key customers
· Work with customers and internal stakeholders to help bring profitable business to market
· Provide quotations and solutions to meet customer needs and in line with target margins
· Contribute to the overall business performance and strategy as a member of the Senior Leadership team
· Guide, support and develop the sales team (two internal sales professionals)
· Follow-up and respond to leads from the website, industry partners and networks
· Target and open up new business in key sectors in line with sales strategy
· Attend exhibitions and customer sites to develop new and retain existing business
· Track customer contact activity and report monthly
· Deliver year on year improvements in margin delivery and ensure margins always exceed minimum targets
· Review pricing regularly and negotiate with customers in order to maximise profitability

· Organised with strong time management skills
· Ability to identify opportunities and bring to fruition
· Professional approach and commercial acumen
· Attention to detail to ensure that customer requirements are correctly interpreted and executed
· Experienced at project management and problem solving, finding solutions

Candidate Profile:

· Experienced in B2B sales role in a technically biased SME
· Self-starter / energetic
· Hungry, humble and smart – team player
· Leads by example and very supportive of all colleagues
· Curious, open minded and flexible
