The Company:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of thermoforming plastic packaging, primarily to the food industry.

Primary Role:

The main priority is to assist the business to acquire new customers. The role, in conjunction with the Sales Director, will develop a strategy to target key market sectors, taking account of market trends and the group’s wider resources, to fully utilise its business capacity to increase sales.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop a sales plan to include new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
· Generate leads and cold call prospective customers in order to develop a sales pipeline for the business
· Arrange meetings with prospective customers/clients
· Negotiate pricing
· Carry out sales forecasts and analysis, presenting the findings to the wider management team
· Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively, to include a plan of how to meet requirements
· Draw up client contracts in line with the businesses legal support team
· Ensure wider workforce buy-in when seeking to implement new products/ways of working
· Liaise with the Finance team and Supply Chain as appropriate, ensure processes are followed and continuous improvement is applied to ways of working
· Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the Group marketing department
· Aid in the development of sales campaigns
· Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate

Person Profile:

· Proven new business sales track record in the packaging industry
· Experience of selling into food processing and food retail markets
· Sound commercial acumen with financial appreciation of costings and pricing
· Proven ability in sales negotiation skills
· A self-starter who is versatile and flexible to new situations and able to work under pressure to high standards and expectations to meet tight deadlines
· Competent with Microsoft Office packages
