Business Development Manager – Post-Consumer Recycled Plastics

We are now seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to expand our customer base in the UK and Europe.

About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you will build and strengthen relationships with manufacturers who use post‑consumer plastics in their production. Your core focus will be developing stable, recurring revenue streams through well‑structured, long‑term supply and purchase agreements.

You will identify new opportunities. The role requires discipline, strong negotiation capability, and the ability to manage multiple complex opportunities in a fast‑moving environment.

This position is ideal for a commercially minded professional with a proven track record of securing long‑term agreements with large clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

·         Develop, negotiate, and secure long‑term purchase and sales agreements for post‑consumer plastics

·         Build and maintain strategic relationships with major clients and industry partners

·         Conduct market outreach, research, networking, and engagement across industry channels

·         Strengthen existing supplier and customer relationships to grow volumes and margins

Commercial Delivery & Market Insight

·         Apply effective negotiation strategies to overcome challenges and close deals

·         Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing movements

·         Share customer insights and market intelligence with internal stakeholders

·         Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales operations

Reporting & CRM

·         Maintain accurate CRM records across all customer and supplier activity

·         Produce regular market and activity reports for leadership

 

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Background

·         Significant experience in Sales or Business Development, within post‑consumer plastics

·         Proven success developing major accounts and securing long‑term agreements

·         Strong experience managing complex negotiations

·         A self‑driven, commercially focused mindset with a strong results orientation

Skills & Capabilities

·         Able to build rapport and credibility with senior stakeholders

·         Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability

·         Excellent negotiation and communication skills

·         Highly organised with strong time‑management discipline

·         Comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously

·         Confident presenting and communicating in writing and in person

·         Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
