Quality Engineer

Overview: Working alongside our client, a leading manufacturer of bespoke material solutions servicing a diverse range of industry sectors, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

  • Aligned to quality department as a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for implementing robust quality controls to meet the requirements of AS9100 rev D /9001:2015, relevant specifications and customer specific requirements
  • As a Quality Engineer you must be an exceptionally organised and methodical professional who has the experience necessary to take the companies products to the next level in accuracy, security and safety
  • The successful candidate will have experience working within AS9100rev D & ISO9001:2015 certified organisations, along with being self-motivated and a good team player with excellent communication skills

 

Role:

  • Control of quality documentation, responsible for updating and revision control for procedures, supporting documents etc
  • Identifying and diagnosing workmanship problems in Production processes using 5 why’s or similar method and leading Root Cause Investigations
  • Work across company departments as required to support day to day quality management
  • Interface with management team where required
  • Deal with day-to-day quality issues and problem solving
  • Interface with suppliers and customers as required
  • Support completion of monthly KPI’s against established objectives and targets
  • Work alongside the quality team ensuring best practice and standardised approach is adopted
  • Completion of supplier quality audits (when required)
  • Completion of internal audits
  • Hands on support with inspection / laboratory when required
  • Support creation of work instructions and for consistent inspection techniques
  • Leading process area quality assurance controls
  • Support / Lead onsite calibration & continuous improvement activities

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Experienced Quality Assurance background
  • Experienced working within AS9100rev D, / ISO9001:2015 quality certified organisation
  • Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements
  • Experienced in 8D activities
  • Ability to read engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experienced in the se of conventional inspection equipment
  • Trained internal auditor to AS9100 Rev D/9001:2015 – Desirable
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Self motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen and mentor
  • Full driving Licence
  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
